Practices
Archery, knife throwing, and fencing are conducted with real weapons which have been subtly altered to eliminate the risk of accidentally reducing the living population of our illustrious Shire whilst maintaining the authentic medieval appearance of actual combat.
The "heavy weapons combat" training uses real armor (think Braveheart and Excalibur) and rattan weapons to recreate the experience of medieval armored combat without the fatalities inherent in that most noble pursuit.
Practices are open to anyone who wishes to attend. There is always some gentle more than willing to talk about what they do. The truth be known, the hard part is getting them to NOT talk about what they do.
